Samsung recently launched its new foldable smartphones, Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4. Both phones came out of the box with a new version of One UI based on Android 12L. The new software included features and optimizations for large screens, like a taskbar and new multitasking gestures. Now, the company brings these features to older foldable models.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip3 are getting Android 12L update
Samsung has officially launched the Android 12L update for its older foldable smartphones alongside the Wear OS 3.5 for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. The new update arrives to Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip3 as One UI 4.1.1. In addition, the previous generation Z Fold 2 and Flip 2 are among the models that received the update.
The update brings many features to the old phones. For example, the revamped taskbar will make more functional the big-screen foldable. Also, a pair of new gestures to quickly change the multitasking modes and a tweaked ability to take selfies using the cover screen for Z Fold 3.
The update also brings better camera controls to the Cover Screen, as well as new quick settings and “Direct Dial” for certain contacts with the One UI 4.1.1 and Android 12L for Z Flip 3. Those new features have already been seen on the new foldable Flip 4.
One UI Watch 4.5 and Wear OS 3.5 for Galaxy Watch 4 series
In addition to the One UI 4.1.1. update, Samsung releases Wear OS 3.5 for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. The update brings accessibility and support for a full QWERTY keyboard on Samsung’s built-in keyboard app. Additionally, new watch faces come to the watches.
